The Managing Director and founder of the firm, Steve Martin, is an Australian with more than 10 years of experience in dealing with Chinese businesses, living for much of that time in China. The Board includes local Chinese with vast expertise in doing business in China.

Many smaller organizations are excluded from the benefits of cost effective Chinese products because so many Chinese manufacturers are geared to mass sales into mass markets. Shanghai Ying Jie is specifically geared towards assisting small to medium companies, which wish to access Chinese products.
