Electronics: Portable LCD screen enquiries slow: “we are seeing mass shipped product coming into the Australian market” said Sales Manager, Robbie Burns.
“Our edge has been lost due to downward pricing pressure on the market, primarily driven by cheap (inferior) quality imports from (other supplier) OEMs. We guessed correctly about the demand, but were incorrect on what would drive the retail purchase decision. Our screens are top quality, but, are being beaten out on cheaper prices available.
Ongoing testing of Portable Digital TV  (PDTV) in two states is still promising in the long term, as we are clearly way ahead in this product, today there are only a couple of players in this market worldwide.”

Construction: SYJTC continues to work on development driven projects in QLD, Tasmania and Victoria. Items of interest to our clients include spas, shower and bathroom equipment, pre-fabricated steel and flooring.
First carpet underlay shipment headed for Australia.

Textiles: SYJTC textile manager, Yvette de Haan, has successfully made and shipped complex textile based equipment for the health industry. Equipment is used for rehabilitation from muscular injuries. Further sampling of garments continuing for high end luxury retailer who request small quantities and high details.

Logistics: SYJTC secured a major logistical project supplying materials from Australia through China and into Mongolia. Client chose SYJTC for our ability to seamlessly and reliably handle logistics via 3 very different nations and very different paperwork chains. Project may last for 6 months.
Other logistical work involved dry-shipment of a new, Chinese made 120” cruising yacht.

Design: SYJTC secures wine label design order. “Our packaging design team has secured its first wine label order” said Robbie Burns. “Client was impressed by our previous commercial package designs for another beverage customer, and we are pleased to say we beat other agencies in this design tender.”

Other news: SYTC CEO visits Tasmania, Victoria and NSW on client and representative business. Requests for small pleasure craft investigated.

APRIL 2007

Electronics: Enquiries driven by developers focus to include plasma DTV sets. SYJTC is negotiating bulk supply of new, large, digital plasma flat screen DTV’s for a hotel development in Australia. “TVs are one product where we maintain a competitive advantage” said Sales Manager, Robbie Burns. “It doesn’t take a big order to fill a container and satisfy our factory managers. Major brands do mark up their latest model TV sets according to release date, compeditor prices, image and against their previously released models. This makes it difficult for consumers to understand the real buy costs and how they fluctuate depending on where in the world you are.  We buy direct from the same OEMs that manufacture LG and SONY screens, and pass on the savings to our clients.”

Construction: SYJTC announces Refrigerant Import/Export License. “We are pleased to announce we can now import refrigerants” announced Steve Martin, CEO. This allows us to supply industrial kitchen freezers and fridges, as well as bar and house hold fridges.  SYJTC was visited by developers from QLD seeking quality fit out materials.

Machines: Final testing of new machines for an automotive client. Export of food packaging machines to Australia continues. New supplier agreement signed with Korean OEM.  

Corporate Travel: Second successful corporate travel client in as many months. SYJTC arranged client’s itinery according to their wishes. Client wanted to combine a required factory and product inspection with some vacation time.
SYJTC arranged a weeklong tour of the Yangtse River at a 1/3 discount than if booked via Australian based operators, for the very same boat! SYJTC staff then facilitated client’s factory tour, including providing an independent interpreter  and now has continuing supply chain management services with the satisfied client.

MARCH 2007

Corporate Travel SYJTC has completed our first corporate travel tour.
Clients spent 10 days in Shanghai and regions meeting new suppliers, all meetings were pre-arranged by SYJTC.

Electronics Division
Negotiations and product development stages for low-energy product use now in final stages. Business is spurred by rapid increase in demand for environmentally sustainable lighting products, including low energy bulbs, LEDs and fittings.

Design and Packaging:  New Faces
SYJTC announces new designer.
We are pleased to welcome Rufus Lane as our new web designer. Rufus, Australian, has more than 10 years experience in graphic and web design.
He will oversee and guide our local designers for creative and technical aspects of the department.

SYJTC please to announce second major order for design and packaging services. Client is in FMCG industry. SYJTC consulted in design of new packaging, sourced new suppliers and produced samples that are now approved for major production.

Water tanks:
Stocks now available for 1000L, 2000L and 3000L water tanks. Made from food grade plastics, molded in China. Enquiries welcome. Designs can be made to order. We are seeking a distributor in Australia, please contact Robbie at our China office.

Chinese New Year
SYJTC wishes its customers, sub-contractors and suppliers a prosperous new year and thank you for your past support over the previous year. We hope to provide a wider range of services in the coming year with our growing team.

Production schedules through the Chinese New Year have been disrupted and many factories are still not back into full production. SYJTC requests clients to plan early to avoid supply chain breaks during the 2008 new year period.
Please plan your orders in December/January.

Electronics division: Tour of Shenzhen factories
SYJTC sales manager Robbie Burns and Keiron Mills toured 5 electronics and hardware manufacturers this month. Agreements were signed with two for export and preferential pricing agreements.
New products, not yet released to market, were also reviewed, watch this space for announcements of hot new products in the digital TV and portable entertainment fields.

Homeware and Textiles division:
Containers of luxury furniture ordered and delivered to Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart.

Imports: new orders have been placed for wood supply. We are now seeking suppliers in EU and USA for long term delivery of logs and lumber to China, please contact our Shanghai office.

JANUARY 2007

Chinese New Year to slow delivery: running from February 18th 2007 for a minimum of two weeks, Chinese New Year brings most factories and businesses in China come to a halt.

SYJTC will be open for trade throughout this period. SYJTC stresses that all orders placed after mid January are likely to be affected by the Chinese New Year period, with inevitable production and delivery delays. SYJTC clients must factor this in when planning their supply chain schedule.

Electronics Division - New Battery and Adapter Agreements
SYJTC announced agreements with two new notebook battery suppliers.
“We are pleased to broaden our range of product offerings in this growing business area,” said Robbie Burns, Sales and Marketing Manager.
“As well as regular famous brand compatibles, we now offer a unique “Universal Notebook Battery” which is suitable for the majority of notebooks in the market and gives you extra power for the busy traveler.”

Import Division - Wood sales into China: an order was placed in January for several thousand tons of pinewood, set for furniture and framing products. Delivery to Beijing will begin in mid 2007.  We are interested in hearing from serious suppliers of pinewood.

CEO visits UK and Australia

SYJTC CEO Steve Martin completed a successful visit to the UK, visiting current and new potential clients for wholesale electronic and contract manufacturing business.

SYJTC has appointed of an experienced textile merchandiser, Ms. Yvette de Haan, to manage the expanding activities of this section of the business. Ms. De Haan is from Holland and has strong international textile souring and merchandising expertise in luxury and mass market fashion.  SYJTC looks forward to expanding the textile and home ware activities and welcomes further enquiries from purchasers seeking competent on ground support.

SYJTC has received an increase in orders for Textiles and Homewares manufacturing in December.
“We have received a rather substantial sample orders this month as well as our usual corporate textile deliveries for this quarter” stated Robbie Burns, Export Sales Manager.

Corporate textiles (branded clothing, including labeled gift wares) have been a staple of the business for some time, and we are pleased to announce a sample request from a large retailer for quality children’s and women’s garments.” “Samples are in production to be delivered mid Jan. This retailer has in excess of 400 outlets and we are pleased to see welcome their requirements that go further than branded staff garments and gift wares.”

This includes casual and technical outerwear, (seagoing and commercial use) home Manchester, curtains and home-use textiles.

Electronic Division - Security System Orders
SYJTC has established a contract manufacture of home-security cameras; samples are due for delivery late-Jan.

Import Division - Australian wine growers visit SYJTC: some are surprised to hear that SYJTC also sells into the Chinese market. Wine growers from Australia visited and discussed wholesale supply of wine into the China market through SYJTC’s network.  We are arranging further contacts with established wine distribution networks in China.  We are arranging the import and delivery of bottled, and non-bottled bulk wine to be supplied from the well-stocked quality Australian wine market for these new customers.

Growth of wine consumption in China is strong with long-term supply being a key for growers to surviving the Chinese market.

A well-known Australian wine supplier is advertising heavily in Shanghai and other regional cities in China on public transport, in magazines and through CCTV public networks. Smaller suppliers are gaining leverage of this greater awareness of Australian wine in China.

Chinese New Year: order notice for clients
Chinese New Year begins February 18th. This important national holiday brings factory shutdowns for up to 2 weeks, and the closing of financial orders for the previous year. Most businesses will be closed for this period.

All clients are notified that orders being placed by mid January are likely to be delayed by our factories for production and delivery in March.

Industrial Division - Contract Manufacturing growth

SYJTC receives ongoing contracts for automotive machinery, packaging and housing industry this month.

SYJTC announced the successful China business visit and on-going consultancy agreements for two very different Australian based companies, both of whom are now new clients.

 “SYJTC sourced and recommended two local specialized factories, arranged factory tours, mediated pricing and will have the machines ready for delivery in early 2007.”

Our package design arm has successfully delivered a new water-product package design, and received the order for printing commercial quantities of packaging for a Tasmanian pure-water wholesaler.

Electronics Division - Electronic business continue to grow
“Interest is certainly growing in laptop batteries and LCD displays, with samples now being delivered to 3 countries” said Robbie Burns, Export Sales Manager.
“We are literally surrounded by some the world’s finest computer OEMs and CEMs here, and having secured export agreements with some selected partners we are now marketing their products overseas.
We welcome all enquiries for laptop and notebook parts and power supplies, chargers, LCDs for home and commercial applications, and the regular hardware such as cases and keyboards/mice.
Goods are warranteed by SYJTC, most are white label, however they can be easily branded and packaged to our clients specifications.”

New Faces - SYJTC Announces hire of new electronics product sourcing specialist
SYJTC is pleased to announce the welcome of Mr. Sun, as a new product-sourcing specialist. “Mr. Sun has technical training in electronic engineering, and professional experience in trading and purchasing, making him an ideal asset to our fast expanding wholesale electronic business” said Mr. Steve Martin.

“We intend to expand our Electronics Division, and I and the entire SYJTC team welcome Mr. Sun as a new full time member of the company.”

SYJTC Announces Package Design and Printing Services

SYJTC Director, Mr. Steve Martin, and SYJTC Marketing Director, Mr. Robbie Burns, announced new package design and printing services for clients. Mr Steve Martin said, “SYJTC is pleased to announce we have formed a partnership with local graphic and media design firms to offer bespoke quality package design. Many of our client’s products can be packaged pre-shipment in China, offering a much higher level of supply chain service, and speedier delivery to the retail shelves of the consumer market. We regularly receive requests for printing and design opportunities, and we are now happy to provide this service.”

Mr. Robbie Burns said, “We are happy to announce this new business arm. SYJTC Director Steve Martin spoke at the Australia China Business Chamber (AUSTCHAM) Transport and Logistics Industry working group meeting. Speech was entitled “There is more to logistics than a C” and covered: customers, China, customs, chemicals, contracts, cash, copyright, and compliance, all are factors that need to be addressed.

SYJTC Telecom Conference

SYJTC assists conference production and visit for 60 visiting Telecom company executives. SYJTC Director Steve Martin spoke on the practicalities of doing business in China and the importance of guanxi. SYJTC marketing team coordinated visual production for presentations including drawings, PPTs, photographs and provided communication consultancy to the executive teams.

SYJTC Hosted buyers in the furniture industry from UK, Australia, India. SYJTC provided consultancy and introductory sessions for buyers looking to enhance their business by sourcing in China. SYJTC Manages Successful Manufacture Of Unique Cleaning Machines For The Automotive and Engineering Industry

Servicing and cleaning is an essential process for all types of engines, but collecting and managing the toxic waste is problematic. An innovative Australian company invented a solution, and came to SYJTC for a manufacturing solution. The engine parts “washing machine” has solid potential for local China and worldwide sales. Machines fit the requirement for industrial and general automotive cleaning applications.

Components are cleaned, and waste is gathered and filtered internally, preventing toxic material from escaping. This helps to ensure environmental protection for automotive and industrial service sectors. The machines are made to order, and are customizable for general or industrial requirements.
